Congratulations to the class of 2020 for their excellent French baccalaureate (OIB) and International Baccalaureate (IB) results! Despite the pandemic, our students brought the school vision and mission to life by showing themselves to be creative, united and self-directed.

École Jeannine Manuel – Paris students achieve a 100% pass rate, but more importantly, with 100% honors, including 75% with Very High Honors (TB) and 18% with High Honors (B).

With a 100% pass rate, an average of 36.2 points out of 45, and 26% of the cohort obtaining 40+ points (including a student with 45 points), this year’s results confirm our School’s position at the top of IB World Schools in France, both in terms of cohort size and academic achievement.

However, these results come after a trying summer for some students and their families. Nearly 25,000 people and over 700 schools, including ours, complained about opaque and unfair marking. In response to these complaints, widely reported in the international press, the IB proposed an appeal mechanism on July 14 and, finally, on August 17, a new, fair and transparent method.

This announcement is an opportunity to express our gratitude to Sabine Hurley, Jen Parent, Nicholas Bunch and Angela Davis, fully engaged since July 5 in supporting the students concerned (around a quarter of the IB class of 2020), both in seeking remarks and as part of their admissions to British universities.
